Fitzgibbon is now in his second season at Hull FC |
Hull FC have appointed former Australian international Craig Fitzgibbon as their captain for the 2011 Super League season. The 33-year-old takes over from Sean Long, who has decided to stand down to concentrate solely on playing. Long spent much of the 2010 campaign on the sidelines after picking up two serious injuries. Fitzgibbon is no stranger to the role, having captained the Sydney Roosters in the NRL for three seasons. The Australian will undertake the duty for the first time on Sunday, when the Black and Whites go to Castleford for their final pre-season friendly, ahead of the start of Super League 2011 in two weeks time.
