Paul Cooke scored just two tries for Wakefield - one against old club Hull |
Hull FC have released a statement that categorically denies they are planning to re-sign Paul Cooke. The 29-year-old made a controversial switch to fierce rivals Hull KR in 2007 after a bitter contract dispute with Hull FC. Cooke joined Wakefield in March but was released at the end of the season, prompting speculation about a possible return to Hull FC. But the club insists Cooke will not "ever be offered another contract". Hull FC chief executive James Rule said: "As a club we have recently had a significant volume of e-mails and telephone calls enquiring whether Paul Cooke is returning to the club. | 606: DEBATE |
"This question was asked at three separate fans forums over the last two years, on each occasion I delivered the same answer. "Paul Cooke has no future at Hull FC, has not signed a contract nor will he ever be offered another contract at this club."
