Hull FC have boosted their ranks by signing Huddersfield Giants captain Chris Thorman on a one-year deal. Thorman began his career at Sheffield Eagles before spells with London Broncos and Paramatta in Australia. Hull coach Richard Agar said: "Chris ticks a lot of boxes for us. He is an excellent kicker of the ball and a first-class goal kicker." Thorman, who celebrates his 28th birthday next week, can play at half-back or full-back. | 606: DEBATE | "He will provide much needed competition for places in some key positions," Agar added of the England international. Thorman, who holds the world record for the fastest hat-trick of tries in either code of the game, added: "I'm excited to be joining such a big club as Hull FC. "It is a fresh challenge for me. They are a very ambitious club and I can't wait to play my part to help in realising those ambitions." Thorman captained England twice in 2005 and was called up to the Great Britain squad for last year's match against France, though he missed the match through injury.
