Kirk Yeaman scored two tries at Wembley with a broken foot |
Hull FC centre Kirk Yeaman is to see a specialist to determine if he requires surgery to repair a broken foot. It has emerged that the former Great Britain international, 25, played in the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley against St Helens with the injury. Yeaman scored two tries in the Black and Whites' defeat and played through the pain barrier. He now has his foot in plaster and faces the possibility of missing the start to the 2009 Super League season. The Hull-born player sustained the injury during the home win over Harlequins a week before the Black and Whites' big day at Wembley and also turned out in the defeat at Hull Kingston Rovers on the last day of the season. But after complaining of continuing pain, investigations revealed a broken metatarsal bone. Yeaman will visit a specialist on Tuesday for further scans and a decision will then be taken about whether the injury will heal without the need for surgery. The Black and Whites academy graduate has scored 19 tries in 28 appearances this season.
