Anderson did not want the head coach job at the Giants

Huddersfield have handed a new two-year contract to assistant coach Paul Anderson, who is their caretaker boss.

The former St Helens player stepped up from assistant after Jon Sharp was sacked, but will return to his original role to work under Nathan Brown.

"I want to continue to learn and working with an experienced NRL coach in Nathan will be massive for me," Anderson told BBC Radio Leeds.

"To stay working here and having this opportunity is want I wanted to take."
