Castleford's bid to regain their Super League status has received another boost with Australian stand-off Ryan McGoldrick opting to stay at the club. The 25-year-old former Cronulla player joined Cas after a protracted wrangle with Wests Tigers.
He played in all but one of their Super League fixtures, and has signed a new two-year deal.
Tigers spokesman David Smart said: "We feel that Ryan re-signing will be really well received by our fans."
Castleford, who have been forced to rebuild their side after the majority of their players became free agents, also persuaded rising stars Michael Shenton and Craig Huby to stay.
