Relegated Castleford have begun their re-building by signing former players Tommy Saxton and Ryan Clayton. Saxton, 23, who made 39 appearances from 2002-04, has rejoined the club from neighbours Wakefield.
Centre or second-rower Clayton, 23, returns to the club after being released by Salford.
Castleford, who hope to bounce straight back to Super League with a full-time squad, have also moved to retain hooker Andrew Henderson for next season.
The Torquay-born Henderson joined the Tigers in 2004 and led them to promotion two years ago when he was an ever-present in their National League One campaign.
The Tigers are also hoping to keep stand-off Peter Lupton but are resigned to losing the bulk of their players, who became free agents when the club's relegation was confirmed.
Prop Danny Sculthorpe and centre Michael Shenton are poised to move to Wakefield and Bradford respectively, while Huddersfield are hoping to sign full-back Michael Platt.
