Sculthorpe has spent time on loan at Castleford and Huddersfield |
Bradford have released prop forward Danny Sculthorpe by mutual consent. Sculthorpe, 31, joined the Bulls on a two-year contract in 2009 but failed to make a single appearance due to injury and illness. The former Wigan and Wakefield man spent much of last season in and out of hospital with a serious bone infection. Bulls chairman Peter Hood said: "We have reached an amicable settlement regards the final year of Danny's deal, he is now free to sign elsewhere." Sculthorpe said: "I would like to thank the club for their support throughout what has been a very difficult and frustrating time for me and my family. "I am now focused on regaining full fitness and resuming my career." Sculthorpe is working towards a return but is unlikely to be fit in time for the start of the new Super League season February.
