Paul Sykes made his Great Britain debut against France in 2008 |
Bradford Bulls' Great Britain international Paul Sykes has signed a new three-year contract with the club. The 28-year-old utility back is in his second spell at the club after four years with Harlequins in London. Sykes said: "I'm really happy here and I'm delighted to get a new contract. It's a good club and a good set-up. "We don't know who the coach will be next year but we've got a great bunch of lads and I want to stay with this club and win things here." Sykes, who originally joined the club as a junior, made his debut in 1999 before leaving to join London Broncos in 2002. He spent four years in London, becoming the club's record point's scorer, before returning to the Bulls for the start of the 2008 season. He has made 83 appearances for the Bulls, scoring 31 tries and kicking 45 goals and 2 drop goals for a total of 216 points. Bulls chairman Peter Hood said: "I'm absolutely delighted he's put pen to paper and signed a three-year deal. "He's home-grown talent, which is particularly important nowadays, and he's an extremely versatile and important member of the first of the first team. Any coach would be happy to have him in their squad."
