Donaldson was carried off in the closing stages against Warrington |
Bradford Bulls forward James Donaldson has been ruled out of action for six months with a knee injury. A scan confirmed the 18-year-old has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and medial ligament. He suffered the injury during Bradford's Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat by Warrington last month. Bulls coach Steve McNamara said: "It's a devastating blow for James but it was something we expected after the initial diagnosis from our medical staff." Donaldson will spend the next six weeks wearing a leg brace before undergoing surgery. McNamara added: "The good thing for James is that he is only young and he will shortly be able to start working on all aspects of his bodily strength and his rehab and he should be fit for the start of next season."
