In-form Warrington continued their push for a Super League play-off spot with a comfortable victory at Wakefield. The Wolves trailed 16-4 early on but ran in eight tries with two apiece from Lee Briers and Ben Westwood to make it four wins from their last five games.
They punished Wakefield on the counter attack with Briers and fellow half-back Nathan Wood proving crucial figures for their side.
Mark Applegarth and Olivier Elima claimed late consolation tries.
As Briers and Wood started to exert their influence on their game, the pair both found their way through the home defence late in the half to give their side a narrow half-time advantage.
Briers scored and converted his second try four minutes after the interval to give the visitors further breathing space and from then on they never looked back.
Wakefield coach Shane McNally
"We didn't help ourselves and we played dumb again. We have showed that we can play football as well, but if you score 28 points you should win.
"You just can't keep giving the ball and penalties away and invite the opposition into your half all the time, because they will score.
"Teams are winning one week and going out the next week and getting beaten."
Warrington coach Paul Cullen
"The deciding factor was that our tired bodies were able to push themselves a bit harder than theirs.
"It was one of those mid-season wins away from home which is very, very difficult to guarantee.
"We have been in that shape and come away with nothing, so I am delighted that we travel back with the points."
