Lesley Vainikolo scored a hat-trick of tries as Bradford ended a run of poor results by thrashing Huddersfield.

The Bulls, beaten in their last three league matches, ran in 10 tries behind big displays from Great Britain's Stuart Fielden and Jamie Peacock.

Robbie Paul revelled at number seven, while goalkicker Iestyn Harris landed six of seven attempts.

Overwhelmed Huddersfield could only small consolation from late tries by Michael De Vere and Stanley Gene.

In truth, the Bulls never looked back after scoring four tries in the first half an hour, Vainikolo using his power to touch down twice in the first 11 minutes.

Little went right for the visitors, who were forced to re-shuffle their backs with the loss of full-back Paul Reilly after only 13 minutes.

And when Vainikolo, comparatively subdued in the second half after his early heroics, completed his hat-trick on 67 minutes, the game was safe.

Bradford had the final say when the impressive Stuart Reardon crossed at the corner for his second try of the match.

  • Bradford coach Brian Noble
"We sat down and talked about making special efforts for each other and recognising that Bradford are a club to give your life for.

"We conceded 32 points at Warrington last week. It's pride isn't it? We were hurt by the amount of points we let in.

"I thought we executed well and we defended well, which we have not done for a while."

  • Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp
"We weren't at the races and fell behind the standard that we have set ourselves.

"It was the best Bradford performance of the season and unfortunately we were on the end of it.

"We came here full of confidence and expectation but it was a bad day at the office. We had some opportunities but we didn't finish."
