Saints scored five tries to see off a spirited London side and keep up the pressure on Super League leaders Leeds. James Roby scored first for Saints before a Jason Hooper penalty, but the Broncos hit back with two quick tries from Nick Bradley-Qalilawa.
Darren Albert and Mark Edmondson extended the visitors' lead before Thomas Leuluai replied for the Broncos.
Vinnie Anderson restored Saints' advantage before Luke Dorn hit back, but Mike Bennett sealed things.
St Helens coach Ian Millward was denied the services of injured Great Britain duo Sean Long and Paul Sculthorpe, with Jamie Lyon in Australia attending the birth of his first child.
And Millward insisted Darren Albert's try on the stroke of half-time was the key to victory.
Millward said: "It gave us a massive positive and sent them in on a negative. It was vital.
"Tempo is everything and I thought we dictated the pace of the game brilliantly.
"If they play like that they will finish in the top six. London are a tough nut to crack. Thankfully we don't have to come here again."
London have now lost four on the trot but coach Tony Rea refused to be downbeat.
Rea said: "We showed great commitment. It's been a difficult seven days for us after the defeat at Leeds but we made progress here.
"The (Albert) try before half-time really knocked us and it took time to get the lads' heads back up."
