Jones to return for Tri-Nations
Scrum-half Stacey Jones
New Zealand scrum-half Stacey Jones will come out of retirement to play in the opening two matches of the 2005 Tri-Nations Series.

Jones, 29, retired from international rugby league last year but has agreed to play against Australia on 15 October and in the return match a week later.

Thomas Leuluai, who succeeded Jones in the New Zealand number seven jersey, is doubtful with a broken ankle.

Jones, bound for French Super League side Les Catalans, has 34 Test caps.

Five players from Penrith Panthers have been named in the Kangaroos training squad for the 2005 series.

Joel Clinton, Trent Waterhouse, Craig Gower, Luke Lewis and Luke Rooney were called up after the Panthers failed to make the NRL play-offs.

Sydney Roosters trio Craig Fitzgibbon, Anthony Minichiello and Craig Wing were also selected.

Other names in the squad include Newcastle Knights' Danny Buderus, Andrew Johns and Steve Simpson.
