Harrison wants more from Reds
Salford coach Karl Harrison was far from happy despite seeing his side cruise into round four of the TXU Energi Challenge Cup.

The Reds started brightly but were only 14-10 up with 13 minutes to go, eventually running out 26-10 winners.

"I thought we played poorly," said Harrison. "We had a great start but for whatever reason we took our foot off the gas.

The result was very disappointing because with 10 minutes to go I thought the momentum was swinging our way

Toulouse player-coach Justin Morgan

"Lessons have got to be learned. The team just did okay, we're certainly not firing on all cylinders."

He added: "They scored two soft tries and never put a dent in our line. Defensively we were outstanding all the game."

Toulouse were one of three French teams to exit in round three, with Pia and Villeneuve also going out.

But Union Treiziste Catalan ensured there would be foreign representation in the next round by beating Gateshead.

"I asked them to give a good account of himself and I couldn't have asked for more," said Toulouse player-coach Justin Morgan.

"The result was very disappointing because with 10 minutes to go I thought the momentum was swinging our way but it wasn't to be."

Full-back Jason Flowers scored the first and last tries for Salford, with Alan Hunte, Stuart Littler and Cliff Beverley touched down.

Australian James Wynne provided Toulouse's only real highlight, a searing break setting up winger Ludovic Perolari.

Toulouse then got the score back to 14-10 when full-back Dave Mulholland slid over for a 67th-minute try and stand-off Julien Gerin added the angled conversion.

But the Reds quickly regained the ascendancy, with second rower Simon Baldwin breaking clear to send Beverley over for his first try for the club.

Flowers then sealed on the win with his second try, Gavin Clinch adding a second goal.
