Woods is building a side for the Championship after promotion in 2010 |
York City Knights have missed out on signing centre or second-row forward Dylan Nash for 2011. The 24-year-old Australian has agreed to stay with Halifax where he has been since leaving Gateshead in 2009. Knights coach Dave Woods told BBC Radio York: "He told my son [who plays for the Knights] that he just could not refuse the offer that was made to him. "It was a very good offer and it was something we wouldn't be able to match so we're resigned to losing him now." Woods, who initially brought Nash to England from Australia, added: "I know the sort of money he's talking about and it's just absolutely ridiculous. | We've got a couple of clubs that we've spoken to that are prepared to give us some players on a dual registration, Castleford being one of them |
"Like I've said before, we want players who want to come to the club. "I've got a lot of time for Dylan and I would have loved to have had him but if he's wanting the cash rather than everything else that goes with it then he's probably not really right for us." Woods is not actively looking for any more players at the moment but he said he is staying aware of what options are available. "We're not really out looking at the moment. We're happy with the squad that we've got. "We know we've got a couple of clubs that we've spoken to that are prepared to give us some players on a dual registration and Castleford being one of them. "They rang me and said they would like to give us a couple if we would want them. We will be keeping an eye on that and see how it goes."
