Dave Woods led York City Knights to promotion in 2010 |
York City Knights will start their season with a long trip to Barrow in the 2011 Northern Rail Cup. The Knights also have an away game at London Skolars while their home ties are against Featherstone and Keighley. Coach Dave Woods told BBC Radio York: "That's a bit of disappointing thing because of the travelling. "There's nothing we can do about it. We've just got to go with it because that's what the Rugby Football League have given us." He added: "It's a bit disappointing to have those in your pool, and have to do all that travelling." | Usually you'd have someone like Gateshead and Hunslet but not this year. We've just got to get on with it |
Woods says the Championship will be the main priority but they believes they can also do well in the Northern Rail Cup. "They'll all be very tough games," he added. "But we've got some real tough teams there, that bring a lot of support as well. "That should be tremendous for us home and away and we're looking forward to that, having a lot of new faces at the ground. "Normally you're in pools of teams that are sort of near you. "Usually you'd have someone like Gateshead and Hunslet but not this year. We've just got to get on with it. "
