Oldham Roughyeds stand-off Neil Roden has committed his future to the club and signed a new one-year contract. The 30-year-old turned down an offer from Keighley Cougars to sign a new deal with the Championship side. Oldham's record appearance holder told the club website: "It was a close call. I played with Keighley boss Barry Eaton at Batley and he offered a good deal. "At this stage I don't want to play anywhere other than Oldham. I've been happy in two spells spanning 10 years." Roden added: "I would like to end my career at Whitebank. I'm planning to play for two more seasons and I've set myself a couple of goals to chalk up 300 games for Roughyeds and to enjoy promotion celebrations."
