Scott won 11 caps for Scotland during an 18-year playing career |
Sale Sharks have appointed Scotland forwards coach Steve Scott to the coaching team at Edgeley Park. The 37-year-old won 11 caps for Scotland and has spent the past two-years as the Scottish line-out coach. Sale head coach Mike Brewer said: "It's really great news for the club that Stevie has agreed to come onboard. "As a former hooker he's got superb knowledge of working with the set-piece, especially the line-out, and he'll bring a lot to our game." Brewer added: "Having worked with Stevie I know he shares the same principles and the same ideology as I and he's exactly what I was looking for in a forwards coach. "We share the same work-ethic and I am really looking forward to working with him again. Scott said of his appointment: "I'm looking at it as a great opportunity. I'm really looking forward to getting down to the club and working with the players. "What excites me most is that I know Mike well and I really enjoyed working with him when we were together with Scotland and I was delighted when he made the call asking me to come and work with him at Sale. "It will be great to resume the excellent working partnership we had up at Scotland and working together I'm sure we will be able to get the best out of the boys at Sale."
