York City Knights coach Dave Woods wants final victory
Woods felt defeat was tough on his side
York City Knights coach Dave Woods wants his side to gain revenge for their qualifying semi-final defeat by Oldham by winning the Grand Final.
The Knights' 41-32 defeat sees Oldham through to the Championship One final, but York can still get there if they beat Blackpool on Sunday.
Woods told BBC Radio York: "We're shattered and We don't want to feel like that again.
"They are going to be real keen to rectify today."
He continued: "We deserved a lot better than that, we were good in a lot of periods of the game.
"Their opening two tries were off some lucky bounces when we weren't quick enough or eager enough to get to the ball and they were.
"We didn't take our chances in the second half, we had quite a few chances and the bounce of the ball didn't go our way, and we took some wrong decisions and that ultimately cost us."
But Woods is confident his side have enough about them to progress to the final when they take on Blackpool.
"It'll be really tough, they are a good side, but we beat them at our place last time," he said.
"If we can take this form into that game and put the pressure on that we have done then it will be a really good game, and I'm confident we can take the points.
"We'll take today's loss and get them back in that one (the final)."
