Keighley Cougars half-back Jon Presley has signed for York City Knights for next season.
The 26-year-old has been with Keighley for three years and previously spent time at Featherstone Rovers and Sheffield Eagles.
Knights coach Dave Woods told BBC Radio York: "He's got a little bit of pace and is organised and he's got a good kicking game.
"We've got to do some work with him in defence and I'm prepared to do that."
Woods added: " We're pretty big on defence at York at the moment.
"He's a young fellow that's moving into the area with work and he's played at the higher level so we thought it would be a good signing for us to give us another option to lead us around a little bit."
The Knights are still looking at further recruitment but Woods said some signings will depend on whether or not the club is promoted to the Championship.
"We're still speaking to another half-back that's played at NRL level and played in Championship One and been around for a bit so that's depending on whether we go up and get our promotion."
