Wilkinson has taken control of the side in the absence of coach Paul Cullen |
Widnes assistant coach Stuart Wilkinson says he is proud of the Vikings after they secured a play-off place with Wednesday's 32-14 win over Barrow. "The lads have been really focused," Wilkinson told BBC Radio Merseyside. "I'm really proud of them. They were really professional and clinical." Widnes could now face Barrow again in the play-offs. "That was one of the things that kept us going," Wilkinson added. "They needed to see how tough we are." He continued: "The bonus for us is the 32 points scored - it's brilliant. "But they needed to see that because we knew that they could come here again [in the play-offs]." Wilkinson has been in charge of the Vikings in the absence of Paul Cullen, whose wife Christine died this month.
