Hunslet secure two more players

Hunslet Hawks have secured the services of two more players for the 2010 season.

Full-back Tom Sheldrake, 21, has agreed a one-year contract extension after an impressive debut season.

Russell Dale, a 20-year-old prop forward, has joined from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on a one-year deal.

Director of rugby Darren Williams said: "Plans for next season are taking shape and further squad retentions and signings will be announced shortly."

Williams added: "Tom Sheldrake put in some pretty consistent performances throughout the year and has added utility value and is a accomplished goal kicker to boot, so to retain him for a further season is a major boost to the club.

"We have kept our eye of Russell's progress over the previous 12 months and after a three year grounding at the Wildcats he feels he is ready to push for a regular spot at championship level.

"He has a good engine and is good going forward and we will provide him with that opportunity."
