York Knights make double signing

York City Knights

York City Knights have made a double signing ahead of Sunday's game at home to Workington.

Leeds Rhinos scrum-half Gareth Moore, 20, and Skirlaugh full-back Lee Waterman, 22, have both agreed deals.

Moore has joined until the end of the season and Waterman has signed until the end of 2010.

Both players have been named in the reserve-grade squad for the match against Featherstone on Thursday evening at the Huntington Stadium.

Moore had attracted interest from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats while Waterman has just returned from a tour with the British Amateur Rugby League Association Great Britain side.

Knights coach James Ratcliffe said: "Lee joins us after his very successful tour of the South Pacific and I feel he can go on and be as influential in the professional game as well.

"Having secured the services of Gareth just shows the intent of the club to be successful. Other Super League and Championship clubs showed great interest in him.

"He comes highly recommended by his coaches at Leeds and having only seen him on DVD and in training I believe he will be a great addition to the squad."
