York City Knights have secured the lease for the bar and catering facilities at the Huntington Stadium. It means the club will profit from the bar on match days for the first time. General manager Ian Wilson told BBC Radio York: "It's a vital income stream, which is going to be important moving forward. "We've never had any revenue from the bar takings. It's always full on match days and functions during the week and we've never had a penny from that." | We'll be able to take revenue not just on Sunday afternoons which is important for the club York City Knights general manager Ian Wilson |
He added: "Now we've got the lease on there we'll be responsible for it during the week as well as on match days. "We'll be able to take revenue not just on Sunday afternoons which is important for the club. "We've been working quite hard this week on getting things going so I'm sure when supporters come in to the bar they'll notice a big difference." The Knights are also close to finalising an agreement with Nuffield Health, their landlord at the Huntington Stadium to continue using the stadium for their home matches and for training. The Knights next match is on Thursday at 1930 BST, at home to Oldham in Championship One.
