McNally was on target with two tries

Whitehaven completed a Championship double over rivals Gateshead Thunder with Sunday's 38-34 win at the International Stadium.

Haven scrum-half Gregg McNally extended his try tally to 23, notching a brace along with winger Craig Calvert.

Thunder's Nick Youngquest and Paul Franze also scored two apiece on their debuts, and there was also a first try for loose forward Kris Kahler.

The Marras stay fifth with 17 points while Thunder are ninth on nine points.
