Carlisle expect right-back Tony Kane to make his loan switch from Blackburn permanent after he verbally agreed a two-year deal with the Cumbrians.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international, 21, played nine times for the League One side following his loan switch in February.

United boss Greg Abbott told the club website: "There is a verbal agreement in place that he will sign the deal.

"We expect him to do that once he is back from his holiday."
