Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has described the chances of out-of-contract striker Danny Graham signing a new deal with the club as only "50-50".
Graham, 23, will continue talks with the Cumbrians this week after stalling on a new deal at Brunton Park.
"We'll sit round a table and try and get an idea of whether he wants to commit to it or look elsewhere," Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We are just hopeful that we can at least get a resolve to it."
Graham, who was the subject of a failed £250,000 bid from Huddersfield in January, scored 16 times last season but went 18 appearances without a goal since the start of the year.
Carlisle would be owed a fee by any prospective suitor because Graham is under 24.
"There is no stumbling block at the minute," Abbott said. "We are waiting to see what Danny wants to do with it really.
We will be looking for the highest amount possible because we know that we have got to replace him with a proven goalscorer

"We are on hold with things until we find out that but we will sit down and talk with him and discuss it and we see where we go from there."
Graham began his career as a trainee with Middlesbrough, making just one first-team start for the club.
Following loan spells at Darlington, Derby County, Leeds United and Blackpool, the striker joined Carlisle for a three-month loan spell in January 2007 when he scored seven times in 11 appearances.
A full-time move to Brunton Park followed during the summer during which time he has scored 33 goals in 91 appearances.
Abbott said: "Danny has got to make a big decision. If there is interest from other parties then he has to work out which is right and what is best for Danny Graham.
"If Danny decides to stay, it will be because he wants to stay and he thinks that Carlisle United is the right thing for him to do. If he does that then I would expect him to die for the shirt.
"He is just weighing up his options because he thinks that at the age he is now, it is an important decision for him."
Abbott has revealed that he has "five or six targets" in mind if Graham decides against signing a new deal with the club.
"We have got plenty of people if Danny does decide to ply his trade elsewhere," he said. "Obviously there are issues to go with that. It is what sort of money we can get for Danny.
"If that situation goes then we will be looking for the highest amount possible because we know that we have got to replace him with a proven goalscorer.
"There are five or six names there that are available that won't be available all summer so hence the reason why we are trying to tie Danny's situation up and make sure that we know what is happening with him."
Abbott also revealed that he is confident defender David Raven will sign a new two-year deal with the club on his return from holiday.
"We have had a really encouraging chat with David," he said. "Out of respect again he has asked if he can have the week's holiday with his girlfriend to decide his decision and that is not a problem.
"Before he went he was very positive in letting me know that it was looking in a good way for us,
"So if we can wrap that one up when he comes back at least we will know (within) a week to 10 days what his decision is."
