Giants loan Hemingway to Halifax

Rugby league

Championship leaders Halifax have signed stand-off Tom Hemingway on a month's loan from Super League neighbours Huddersfield.

The 22-year-old has made one first-team appearance for the Giants this season.

Huddersfield need to make room in their salary cap for the planned loan signing of Wigan's Lee Mossop.

Halifax chief executive Graham Clay said: "Tom is here for a month initially, which will give both parties a chance to assess the situation."

"If everything goes to plan, we would then look to extend the arrangement through to the end of the season."

Hemingway is also thought to have attracted the interest of Batley Bulldogs but has opted for a move to the Shay after falling behind Kevin Brown and Liam Fulton in the pecking order at the Galpharm Stadium.
