Hull KR (4) 16 Tries: Fox, Briscoe 2 Goals: Dobson 2
Castleford (0) 6 Tries: Sargent Goals: Dixon
Shaun Briscoe ran in two second-half tries as Hull KR maintained their second place in the Super League table. Peter Fox went over in the corner as Rovers led 4-0 at the break, although Castleford were denied a penalty try after Kirk Dixon was impeded out wide. Michael Dobson's well-weighted kick bounced perfectly for Briscoe to extend Rovers' lead but Mitchell Sargent barged over from close range for Cas. However, Stanley Gene burst through to set up Briscoe who sealed the victory.
Hull KR coach Justin Morgan: "I thought we hung in there and showed a great spirit and determination. "They are a very tenacious team and make you work really hard. We weren't firing on all cylinders but it was a really gutsy performance. "We were under a lot of pressure at times and I thought we came through with flying colours." Castleford coach Terry Matterson: "At 10-6 we were on the front foot and back in the game. There was a high kick and they got in our way, no penalty. "Last week, again, we got tackled in the air, no penalty. Two tackles later they get a penalty and go the other end of the field and score. "I don't know if they know the rules. It is the third week in a row we have been absolutely jammed."
