Salford coach Shaun McRae refused to get carried away as his team close in on the National League One title.

The Reds beat second placed Halifax 36-18 on Thursday to extend their lead to seven points.

McRae told BBC Radio Manchester: "We've got to keep going and we've got to keep turning up with the enthusiasm and the dedication that we have."

Salford now need only one more win from their last three games to guarantee they finish top of the table.

Winning the league will cap a great season for the Reds, who have already lifted the Northern Rail Cup and have been awarded a Super League licence for the next 3 years.
