Lancashire set Hampshire a 211 target in their Division One match before rain brought a premature end to proceedings.

Steven Croft's dominant 70 and a rapid 63 from Francois Du Plessis helped Lancashire to 210-8 after the visitors had been put in to bat.

It was a difficult target and Hampshire openers Michael Carberry and Michael Lumb reached 14-0 from five overs.

But then rain stopped play as both counties had to be content with the game being deemed a no result.
