Salford ran in 10 tries as they cruised to a 60-0 victory over Doncaster in the Northern Rail Cup final in Blackpool. Full-back Karl Fitzpatrick began the rot at Bloomfield Road, his opener being followed by further tries from Craig Stapleton and Richard Myler (2). Ahead 24-0 at the break, they then ran in another six more after the restart, all converted by John Wilshere. Winger Paul White grabbed a hat-trick, while Ian Sibbit, Adam Sidlow and Robbie Paul all also got in on the act. Doncaster will now have to compose themselves for Wednesday night's return to league action when they take on another Manchester side Swinton (2000 BST). Ellery Hanley's side, although well beaten by National League Division One leaders Salford, are still in the hunt for promotion with games in hand. Salford do not return to action until next Sunday (13 July) when they go to Dewsbury (1400 BST).
