Doncaster chairman Craig Harrison has said he would not stop Ellery Hanley returning to the Super League.

The former Great Britain and St Helens head coach has been linked with the vacant post at Warrington.

But Harrison has told BBC Radio Sheffield that there has been no approach for his coach.

"Ellery has assured me he's had no contact with them. If anybody wants to better themselves we wouldn't stand in their way as long as we got a fee."

Harrison tempted Hanley back into coaching in December 2007 after taking the National League Two side out of administration.

Hanley coached the national team in 1994 and took St Helens to the Super League title in 1999 before being sacked five months later for a breach of contract.
