Gillings fell in warm-up, trying to avoid another competitor

Zoe Gillings has withdrawn from the latest SBX World Cup round in Valmalenco after falling during the warm-up for Friday's quarter-finals.

The British number one was trying to avoid a collision with another competitor just 30 minutes before her race was scheduled to start.

"It is really frustrating to have to pull out of the competition but I have to put my health first," she said.

The 25-year-old had qualified in 13th place for Friday's finals.

"I was going pretty fast and caught an edge trying to avoid another girl," she said.

"It was a painful fall but I am more disappointed because I am under so much pressure to get the results to win back my funding."

Gillings will now return to her training base in France before travelling to Switzerland for the two remaining World Cup races of the year.
