Victorious Vonn sets new US mark

Vonn is now the most successful female American World Cup skier

World champion Lindsey Vonn won the women's super-G at Tarvisio on Sunday to become the most successful female American skier in World Cup history.

Sunday's victory was her 19th, one more than the record set by Tamara McKinney.

Vonn, 24, won in one minute 21.72 seconds to beat Fabienne Suter of Switzerland by half a second, with Tina Maze of Slovenia in third.

Her sixth success of the season means she leads the overall standings by almost 300 points from Maria Riesch.

Bode Miller hold's the men's record for Americans with 31 World Cup victories.
