Rudman leads the World Cup standings by 11 points |
Olympic silver medallist Shelley Rudman had her lead cut in the skeleton bob World Cup standings after coming sixth in the latest round. She now leads by just 11 points from Marion Trott of Germany, the winner of the Thursday's race. Meanwhile team-mate Amy Williams, from Bath, had her best ever finish in a World Cup race. She picked up the silver medal in Vancouver, Canada and is now fifth in the overall standings. Dr Andy Schmid, GB performance director, said: "It's an absolutely great result for Amy and it was also good to see Shelley finish in the top six. I'm pleased with the results today. "Amy has looked very comfortable on this track," he added. "It's all about learning when you get to a new track. I'm also convinced we'll see some good results from Amy in the next two races." Williams came second in Vancouver |
I was pretty much first on every training day, so if I hadn't made the top three I would have been disappointed," she said. "I've been top-three in training at just about every race this year, but I've never quite done it in the race. "It's all starting to come together now. I know I've got it in me. It's a case of trying to get it all to happen at the right time."
