Britain's Olympic bob skeleton silver medallist Shelley Rudman took second place in round four of the World Cup in Konigssee, Germany.

Rudman, 27, in her first season back after giving birth, followed up gold in Austria to go second in the rankings.

Rudman trails Germany's Anja Huber by 64 points at halfway, with team-mate Amy Williams 11 points back in third.

World champion Kristan Bromley was 13th in the men's event, with fellow Briton Ant Sawyer 12th.

Andy Schmid, GB performance director, said: "It was a very positive day for the girls - a great result for both of them.

"Shelley's second run was incredible - she produced the best time. Amy made one mistake, otherwise we would have had two British girls on the podium. She is getting closer and closer.

"It's brilliant to have two British girls in the top three overall."

The next event on the bob skeleton World Cup circuit takes place in St Moritz, Switzerland, from 11-18 January, and doubles up as the European Championships.
