Madeline Perry is in line to meet Rachael Grinham in the semi-finals |
Madeline Perry is through to the quarter-finals of the Qatar Classic after beating France's Camille Serme in the second round in Doha on Friday. The 32-year-old from Banbridge took just over half an hour to progress on a 11-4, 11-5, 11-8 scoreline. Perry, seeded fifth, will now meet England's third seed Alison Waters in the quarter-finals on Saturday. If she beats Waters on Saturday, Perry is likely to face Rachael Grinham in the semi-finals. Perry lost to Australian Grinham in the British Open decider in September. "Camille has improved a lot since I beat her 3-0 in Montreal two years ago," said Perry. "She played some good shots, returned well and at times put me under more pressure than I would have liked. "But when I was in front I felt I was in control of the game."
