Madeline Perry suffered her second recent defeat by Grinham

Banbridge player Madeline Perry has been beaten at the quarter-finals stage of the Hong Kong Open.

The number seven seed was defeated 11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 11-9 by third seed Rachael Grinham of Australia.

Grinham also secured victory over the 32-year-old local woman in the recent British Open final in Manchester.

Perry needed only 28 minutes to beat Australian qualifier Donna Urquhart 11-7, 11-8, 11-6 to make the last eight in Hong Kong.
