Bingham reached the second round of the World Championship last year
Stuart Bingham says he cannot believe he has been drawn against fellow Essex star Ronnie O'Sullivan at next month's World Snooker Championship.
The Basildon player is targeting a place in the world's top 16 after an indifferent season.
Bingham told BBC Essex: "It's got to be the worst draw, I practice with him a couple of times a week so I know what he's like.
"I suppose if there's any time to draw him it's the first round."
The 32-year-old made it to the tournament by beating Alan McManus 10-6 in the final qualifying round last Sunday.
But, despite the draw, Bingham is confident he can hold is own against the defending world champion.
"To be playing the game, I believe if I do play to the best of my ability I'll beat anyone. You've got to think that way or it wouldn't be worth playing snooker," he added.
"If he (Ronnie O'Sullivan) goes down to 95% and I have a really good day then I may be able to stay with him."
