Substitute Dennis Oli's header two minutes from time gave promotion-chasing Gillingham a vital victory over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Mark McCammon opened the scoring for the Gills after he had been first to react to John Nutter's parried shot.

But just before the break Ben Strevens neat turn and cut-back provided Sam Saunders with an easy far post tap in.

And with time running out Oli rose highest to head home Nutter's inswinging free-kick to secure the win.
