Jamie Cope will make his second appearance at the Crucible after beating Paul Davies in the final round of World Championship qualifying.

Cope, 23, won 10-5 against Cardiff's world number 57.

The Stoke-on-Trent youngster lost a final-frame thriller against Peter Ebdon in the first round in 2008.

Cope is provisionally ranked 21 for the 2009/10 season, although a good performance in Sheffield could propel him into the elite top 16.

The draw for the first round of the 2009 championships takes place on Wednesday.
