Dagenham & Redbridge claimed a first win in seven games as they beat a Port Vale side, who slid to their 11th home defeat of a troubled season.
An unmarked Jamie Guy headed home Matt Ritchie's curling cross to claim his first goal for the club and put the visitors ahead.
Louis Dodds almost equalised but his shot struck the bar.
Vale again hit the woodwork when Kevin Gall's volley struck the bar as the visitors held on to secure the win.
