Harold is the current world number 28

Stoke snooker players Dave Harold and Jamie Cope are both out of the UK Championship after losing their qualifying matches.

World number 19 Cope went down 9-7 to Jamie Burnett on Monday while Harold lost 9-6 to Rory McLeod on Sunday.

Both men have missed out on appearing in the final stages of the tournament in Telford later this month.

Harold only ranking event victory came in the 1993 Asian Open, while Cope is yet to win a major tournament.
