Allen loses semi-final in Poland

Antrim player Mark Allen suffered a semi-final defeat in Poland
Mark Allen's defence of the European Championship ended at the semi-final stage in Poland on Thursday.

The Antrim teenager was defeated 6-5 in a thrilling encounter by Kristjan Helgason of Iceland.

The current world and Northern Ireland champion lost the first three frames but hit back by winning the next four.

The game eventually came down to a deciding frame and it was Helgason who booked a place in the decider by winning it 74-10.
