Jersey's Stephen Bouchard and Andrew Chapman claimed silver in the air rifle team event

Jersey's first gold medal of the 2009 Island Games in Aland was won on the shooting range.

The medal marks yet another success for the island shooters and it came in the 25 metres women's sport pistol event.

The Jersey duo of Mary Norman and Jennifer Ward narrowly beat the hosts Aland to the gold by just two points.

The win took Jersey up to seventh in the overall medals table with all but two of the medals coming from the shooting range.

Elsewhere in today's shooting action, Stephen Bouchard and Andrew Chapman claimed silver in the air rifle team competition.
