"I think the difference was made by decent starting for a change," said Scott. "I got good starts in both races at the starboard end with a nice clear lane."

In the Laser fleet, Nick Thompson moved into pole position ahead of Friday to take advantage of a bad day for overnight leader Tonci Stepanovic.

Skandia Team GBR will also have three boats in the women's 470 medal race, with Penny Clark and Saskia Clark notching up two race wins to boost them up into fourth place.

Bryony Shaw is in fourth place in the RS:X Women's fleet, but Olympic silver medallist Nick Rogers missed out on the medal race after finishing 14th overall.
