Ross Ladies were among the winners at Bewdley Regatta |
Ross Rowing Club enjoyed a successful weekend at Bewdley Regatta as they recorded 16 victories over two days. The wins came right across the age range from the under-11s through to the Masters event. The club's junior section further enhanced its growing reputation by chalking up 10 victories in all events. The tightest race came in an all-Ross final as the Kingfisher W12 quads pipped the Haigh crew by a bow ball - an official margin of two inches. Lenny Colling and Mitch Browning beat Bewdley in the final of the novice double scull - an especially impressive result as Browning has only been rowing for eight weeks. Mike Jones won the Masters E senior scull in which he beat a Northwich competitor in the final, while the ladies senior crew also tasted success. Holly Campbell, Geraldine Calcraft, Emily Preece and Geenee Watling, with Rhodri Morris as cox, beat tough opposition from Stourport in their final.
