St Austell 3 are now only eight points behind leaders Hayle in the Cornish Netball League, after beating Connect by 43 points to 35.

The win puts St Austell 3 onto 32 points after nine games, whilst Hayle have 40 points from eight games.

In other matches, Lastonet beat Predators 33-26 last Thursday, before losing to Penzance by 38-32 on Monday.

As a result, Lastonet are now sixth in the standings, whilst Penzance have moved up to fourth.

Predators remain second from bottom after taking only 11 points from eight games.

Bottom club Bodmin play host to Penryn in the league's next match on Tuesday evening, with the home side looking for only their second win of the season.
